It's hard for the average gamer to play absolutely EVERYTHING, even everything that's good. But is that any excuse? Should gamers be shamed for failure to expose themselves to certain kinds of games?

In our first Video Game Confessional, Vinnk and SeanOrange talk about the game franchises we should have played, but didn't. And for good measure, we also discuss a few games we love to death, but have no business liking.

Rebel in Japan: The Pokemon Days of Summer Vinnk explains how elementary school teachers while away the summer months... by talking about Pokemon with their students!

Show Notes:

Happy Birthday, Famicom Dojo!

First, thank you EVERYONE so much for getting us to 2000 subscribers on YouTube! You're also helping to break records every week for the number of podcast subscribers, which already did so much better in its first week as an audio-only show than it ever did as the Video Netcast. You have made our four year anniversary something truly special, and remind us why we keep doing this.

Games We Should Have Played (but didn't):
  • Pokemon Red/Blue (Game Boy)
  • Metal Gear Solid (PSX, PS2, GameCube, PS3)
Even despite some of the GameCube remakes available (including Resident Evil), it not always enough to help us break into a franchise that we haven't played due to either not owning the console where it was originally released, or any other number of factors.

Games We Love, Even Though We Shouldn't:
  • Product No. 3 - P.N.03 (GameCube)
  • Conker's Bad Fur Day (N64, Xbox)
In one case, we loved it because we felt like we had to. In another, it was a game that didn't end up where it started, and though fabulously fun couldn't be said to be consistent, control well, or even be very "game-y" in some parts. But they brought us some fabuously wonderful moments:

But it's important to list the Capcom 5, because their announcement was pretty crucial in the life cycle of the GameCube... or at least should have been before they became the Capcom 4, and then three ceased to be GameCube exclusive at all.

The Capcom 5:
  • Killer 7 (GameCube, PS2)
  • Dead Phoenix (never released)
  • Resident Evil 4 (GameCube, PS2, Wii, PC, XBLA, PSN)
  • Viewtiful Joe (GameCube, PS2)
  • Product No. 3 (P.N.03) (GameCube)
But enough about us: what about you? What's on your pile of shame? What games haven't you played? What games do you love that you know you shouldn't? Leave us your Video Game Confessional at 608-492-1923.

Last, but not least, I think this is the first time we've deliberately exposed you to 1337band -- that is, unless you found the Easter Egg on the Season 1 DVD! But for those who haven't:

And, for good measure, the J-Pop-y Lt. Snorkel remix version:
